Rosemary is an herb in the mint family, popular in cooking. An ancient plant, it has been revered by the Romans and the Egyptians for thousands of years, used for food, incense, medicine and cosmetics. Its oil is used today for therapeutic and medicinal purposes, including aromatherapy, pain management, relief of respiratory ailments, and increasing mental alertness.
Use rosemary oil to control body odor
Method
Melt a small amount of beeswax, then stir in a few drops of rosemary oil. Other essential oils may be added for fragrance, such as lemongrass, lavender, or almond oil. Once cooled, rub a small amount under the arms daily.
Why It Works
Rosemary essential oil inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria.
Precautions
Rosemary oil may cause an allergic reaction; discontinue use if a rash develops. Rarely, epileptic seizures have been reported with external use of rosemary oil. Do not take orally. Pregnant and lactating women should not use essential oils excessively, as they may cause miscarriage or harm to infants. If you experience a sudden, noticeable change in body odor, consult a doctor as it may be a sign of a more serious condition.
